Scripture of the Month: 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV)
Numbers 23:19
God will keep every word and promise that He has spoken. This September, we need to expect divine actions.
2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV) reminds us that whenever the Lord speaks, the moment He releases and proclaims words, all those words are Yes in Him and Amen in Him.
Our key phrase is: In Him.
Understanding God’s Promises
A promise is a declaration that one will do something specific. A promise is also a prophecy released by God. When God sends these promises, it isn’t just to inform us of what He intends to do, but also to transform us.
Most personal prophecies are conditional. For example: “Give, and it will be given to you.” To encounter the giving back, we first need to be givers. The receiving is conditional - it depends on us doing something first.
Proverbs 2:1–5 is another example, showing that many of God’s promises are conditional.
A Reflective Question
The delays you’ve been experiencing concerning God’s promises, could they be connected to conditions you have not yet fulfilled?
When I receive a personal word from the Lord, I must be watchful and listen carefully for the condition attached to that prophecy. The condition may not always be expressed directly, but it is there within the word.
So, in this season of manifestation, God wants us to know that we are indeed in a season of manifestation - but we must also be very attentive to the conditions that He has set before us.
Our Part in the Prophetic
We each have a part to play with every prophetic word. Not every prophetic word comes to pass automatically. We need to act; we cannot just sit back and wait. If we do, those things will not come to pass.
When I receive a prophetic word, it builds faith within me. But in this month of manifestation, I need to put my faith to work.
Romans 8:19 declares that all creation eagerly waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.
What Manifestation Means
The word manifestation means:
To take off the cover
To disclose or be disclosed
To reveal or be revealed
Example: Ruth 3:1–9
In this passage, we see how obedience and attentiveness to instruction bring about the manifestation of God’s plan.
The Holy Spirit desires to release His power and establish God’s plans in our lives. But if we are not careful to follow prophetic instructions, we will not be able to maintain what God has given us. We may enter into the promise, but quickly lose what He provided.
The prophetic word establishes us into the manifestation of God’s promises. And these promises all come with conditions that need to be met for manifestation to take place.
Walking in the Manifestation
We must follow every instruction the Holy Spirit gives us in order to experience the fullness of God’s promises.
We must not be rebellious but remain at the feet of the Father. If we abide in Him and trust Him, He will prove Himself faithful.
Romans 8:19 reminds us again: creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Amen.
