Breakthrough

Breakthrough

This isn’t a month where we may experience breakthrough, but a month where we certainly will.

Acts 12:1-11

Exodus 14:10-22

In these two examples, we see that there was no way out, yet God brought a breakthrough.

What does breakthrough in August mean?

All dead ends come to an end. Doors that weren't there before are opened, and barriers are pushed through for us this August.

2 Samuel 5:17-20

Breakthrough: A sudden, powerful advance that overcomes a longstanding barrier, wall, or hard problem.

Many of us have longstanding walls or problems that haven't even been brought before the Lord. We should turn to the Lord in this month and believe Him to break through them. He breaks through; we simply walk through.

This month is the month to turn to the Lord concerning the walls we've been seeing. I need to look to Him for breakthrough and trust Him for it.

There's something else that we need to know. If we want to experience breakthroughs, then we have to be prepared to step out of our comfort zone.

"Our comfort zone may feel safe because nothing extraordinary has ever gone there." It can disguise itself as repetition in our job, routine, or the life we have simply learned to tolerate.

Comfort zones are more linked to familiarity than a state of comfort.

If we are not where we want to be, and I haven't changed anything in the past two weeks, then we're in a comfort zone.

If I want to experience the breakthrough He is bringing in August, I need to be prepared to step out of that comfort zone. I need to break the repetition of doing nothing and start doing something.

Before David attacked, he first sought the Lord and enquired whether they would be victorious in attacking the Philistines. When he received the instruction to go, he broke through.

Our comfort zone is an illusion and a disguise. The fear of change is an attack of the enemy.

I need to step out of my comfort zone this August, and I'll experience breakthrough. God is ready to break through, but the big question is whether I'm ready to step out.

So if the problems continue, have I really stepped out of my comfort zone?

Amen
