Subtitle: Overcoming the evil one
Becoming a recipient vessel is key for me to not only receive but to keep everything that He has given to us.
1 John 2:13-15
The enemy tries to draw us to the love of the world, and if we’re drawn to it, we can’t get to a place of being a recipient vessel of The Lord. Why is it important to be mature to be a better recipient? Because as a babe or little child in Christ, we have not yet overcome the evil one.
We need to have a deep revelation and conviction of God's word to me, for me to be an effective recipient. We need to develop conviction in the word God has given us for us to keep it. If I don’t, it means that I’m still immature and haven’t overcome the evil one, therefore making it difficult to hold onto the word or to access it.
Ephesians 4:13-14
I must become mature in the word that God gives me. Not all maturity is equal. I have to become mature in every area where The Lord is speaking to me.
Romans 10:17 - Faith and revelation come as I hear the word, but I now need to grow in the word to receive maturity. I need to grow and embrace, possess and take hold of the word, and hold onto every word God gives me. The more I practise and walk into it, I mature in it quicker.
Any word of God that I don’t receive maturity in can be accessed by the evil one. Being a recipient vessel isn’t just about receiving. A recipient is one who takes hold and maintains what God is doing. For me to hold and maintain takes maturity, and as I mature I develop conviction. Conviction is born from maturity.
If I overcome the issues of addiction my provision will manifest. So when God is dealing with me in a particular area I need to grow and manifest in that area so I can overcome the enemy, leading then to manifestation. I need to mature in the area that God is dealing with me, so that my manifestation will come.
Satan isn’t attacking God, he is not attacking God's word; he wouldn’t dare, rather he is attacking us, trying to get us to lose hold of what God has given me. The reading of the written word (Bible) isn’t what satan is after, it’s the revelation of God's word in me - that’s what he doesn’t want us to have, because then it becomes dangerous for him. We must understand this to ensure that we’re fighting the right battle.
I need to treat every word God gives me, because the enemy knows if I hold onto that word, and the longer I hold onto it, I practise repetition and consistency, which leads to manifestation - this the enemy doesn’t want.
The enemy doesn’t mind us praying about things, so long as it isn’t based on revelation. He will often bring distractions to shift our focus away from the revelatory word from God.
I need to focus on what God is doing in my life, and in this particular area the enemy will try to get me to look away and bring distraction. I need to be a recipient to what God is dealing with in my life right now. This needs to be my focus and I need to value that, less the enemy will come and take it away.
Matthew 13:18-23
Every word God gives me, there is more to receive thereafter. For when God gives a word we shouldn't be so quick to run off with the word, rather enquire from Him, for He is trying to bring us into a conversation and begin engaging with us.
I need to recognise that God's word is my lifeline.
How do I become mature and overcome the evil one? When I receive God's word I need to quickly mature, and meditate on that word and delve into it - taking time in it, not being distracted from what God is saying in my life. When I value His word, I’ll be able to hold it a lot better.
When the enemy comes he’ll wrestle with us on that word, and if I value what God is saying in me I’ll overcome the evil one. The enemy will always leave us alone when I resist him and find someone else that’s easy.
If I understand how spirituality works, when I hold onto anything it'll produce a harvest.
What does it look like when I’ve overcome the evil one? I’ve received consistency, repetition and a state of constant. I’ve graduated from the place of self-doubt and unbelief.
The state of repetition and being constant is how I battle, but I do so holding onto the revelation God has placed in my heart.
I will see a manifestation in what God is telling me. It has to happen, it has nothing to do with me - I just need to be consistent and hold onto His word. By spiritual nature, it has to manifest.
The word recipient in Hebrew means acknowledgement (yadar) - to know intimately, recognise or be aware through relationship or experience. So being a recipient of God is attached to having a relationship or experience with God. How do I come to this place? Maturity.
In order for me to be a recipient (someone who acknowledges - meaning to have relationship or experience with the thing that one is acknowledging) I need to become intimate and build a relationship and grow in experience in that word, so I can come to the place of maturity, then manifestation. Without this word, I’ll keep experiencing setbacks, frustration, unanswered prayers, confusion due to not understanding God's word, and what my response to His word is supposed to look like.
Ephesians 1:18-19 AMP
I must know who I am in God. If I don’t, satan understands and wants me to remain in a place of ignorance. I might see many issues in my life, but I need to focus on what God is saying, for this is where the enemy will try and take our eyes away from.
Amen.
