Matthew 19:23-26
There are many things in the Lord that God is calling me to do which are nearly impossible—unless I see through heaven’s eyes.
I need to see things through God's eyes.
In the scripture above, the disciples responded through their own eyes—but we need to see through heaven’s. We might have the perfect picture, vision, and feel like we understand all the steps, but it’s actually impossible to do what He wants me to do unless I see things through His eyes.
Everything in the latter part of this year must be better than the former, but I need to be obedient, attentive, diligent, consistent, show up, and do all that the Lord tells me to do. Many times, God is ready to do something in our lives, but He allows us to see other ways and consider other options, also giving us the freedom to make our own decisions. However, He will always show us the best way. The best way may not suit us, but He will allow us to recognise that His way is best.
God has been watching me since birth, observing both my efforts and mistakes. He has seen me grow in ways even a parent couldn’t, as they can’t remember every moment of our life—but God does, and He sees every moment in the present.
Every time I do what He tells me to do, despite what I think, He sees me becoming strong, refined, mature and overcoming the enemy. Obedience to God doesn’t always bring an instant reward, but it’s not about the reward, it’s about Him watching me become ready.
Whenever I feel led to do what I believe the Lord is telling me, I actually qualify for something, even if I don’t realise it. God won’t celebrate everything I do, but He takes note and sees it, so it’s important to stay consistent in this.
Is it better for God to celebrate me, or to say that I’ve now qualified? To clap for me, or to open a door for me? These little things we do for the Lord go a long way, even if I don’t realise it.
Everything I do matters, and as I mature, I need to stop seeing things through the eyes of a spiritual infant. Maturity can be painful, but it is rewarding and opens doors for us, and this is what the Lord wants to do in our lives
The more mature I become, the more abilities I access and the more abilities are opened to me. God has been taking me through certain things that I thought were just coincidences, but what I did not realise was that every moment was calculated allowing certain things to reach me. He allowed me to go through certain experiences but also knew what I could not handle and prevented certain things, for He has been guiding me through a process of maturity. Some people mature in church, while others mature outside of it.
God has been preparing me for the next stage. It is time to take bold steps of faith in July. We are no longer at a stage where we will be celebrated for learning how to do things or for overcoming certain challenges, but at a stage where, though we will not be celebrated, doors will be opened for me. I must learn how to take bold steps of faith.
God has set before me stepping stones, but I do not know where those steps will lead or what the outcome will be. However, I know the first two or three steps, and God is saying it is time to take those steps in faith.
It is time to stop planning. It is time to stop thinking. It is time to start acting. It is time to take great bold steps of faith—something that will cause me to actually see a difference. It is time to see the manifestation of the Lord as I respond to the faith within me. This is what I need to do this month of July.
I need to stop planning and just take the first step. We know the first two or three steps, and by faith, though we do not know the outcome, we must take them. I need to stop pondering and start doing.
God is taking me to a new place. I must not look for my old nesting place, comfort zone, or place of familiarity, for it is no longer there. Everything is new, but I have to take those steps, take action, and make a move.
It is up to me to make up my mind that I will not reach the end of July without a testimony, for by the end of July, we must have a great testimony.
It is time for us to start holding onto the Lord’s word.
If I have worked at something without success, even though I see success around me, I should not be discouraged, for a testimony is being born within me.
Remain encouraged and do not compare yourself to others. I have my own special calling, my own field, but there is a part that no one else can do for me and requires support only from the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 26:38 - In this scripture, Jesus called the disciples with Him for a reason; it was not to come and sleep.
Sometimes God calls us for a reason, but we are spiritually asleep. Sometimes we look at our lives and find that it’s normal because we only see what is and one outcome, but we fail to see what could have been. What could have been could have been my life just as much as my life is now.
Sometimes God makes a way for us and gives us opportunities, and just because my life is where it is today, it does not mean that that is all there is or all that there was.
It is time to take bold steps. It is time to stop missing opportunities. I don’t have time, though I think I do. Time is running out, and I need to stop delaying. I need to refuse to miss opportunities and take bold steps of faith.
I must not end this month without a testimony.
Amen.
